The Creative Therapy Hub works with schools across Northern Ireland to support the emotional wellbeing of children and young people.

Support can be tailored to the needs of individual pupils, groups, staff teams and the wider school community.

I bring nearly 10 years’ experience as an HCPC-registered Creative Psychotherapist, alongside a relational and trauma-informed approach.

Therapeutic Support for Schools Across Northern Ireland

Support Available to Schools

One-to-One Therapeutic Support, individual creative psychotherapy can offer pupils a consistent and confidential therapeutic space in which to explore emotions, relationships and experiences.

Sessions are adapted to the child or young person’s age, developmental needs and individual circumstances.

Therapeutic Group Work

Group work can provide pupils with opportunities to develop emotional awareness, communication, confidence and connection with others. The structure and focus of each group can be discussed with the school and tailored to identified needs.

Staff Workshops & Training

Workshops can support staff to develop greater understanding of children and young people’s emotional and relational needs. Training can be tailored to the needs of the school or organisation.

Half-day and full-day options are available.

Consultation & Reflective Support

Where appropriate, consultation can provide staff with space to think about the emotional and relational needs of pupils and consider how these may be understood and supported within the school environment.

How School-Based Support Works

Every school is different, so support begins with an initial conversation.

We can discuss:

● the needs you have identified

● the type of support being considered

● number of pupils or staff involved

● practical arrangements

● consent and information sharing

● safeguarding responsibilities

● review arrangements

Following this discussion, I can recommend an appropriate format for the work.

A Professional and Collaborative Approach

My work with schools is underpinned by professional registration, therapeutic ethics and safeguarding responsibilities.

Where appropriate, I work collaboratively with parents, carers, school staff and other professionals while maintaining appropriate therapeutic boundaries and confidentiality.
